sounds like you got a bum phone. i texted all the time with mine, it was fine, now my teenage son has it and texts (of course) more than I do, no texting issues whatsoever. actually he loves it, he wanted it for the music which I never used, loaded it up with all kinds of stuff, and still no texting problems...
