Any former Envee users?

Yesterday I was playing around with the new Voyager and the Venus. I love my Envee and thought the Voyager would be the clear choice, but I love the smaller size of the Venus. So much easier to slip in a pocket when on my bike. I don't do a LOT of texting, but I do enter a lot of reminders in the calendar and wondered if there are any Venus users here that miss the qwerty keyboard?

Thanks

I don't miss a qwerty keyboard...had a HTC smartphone before. But the Venus is NOT a good choice for lots of calendar stuff. It has the basic Verizon UI for calendar, contacts, etc. It works, but it isn't great.

I picked one up yesterday to put through its paces. I already like the way the predictive word typing is. I'm faster with that then my old qwerty, and it appears to work better than my old blackberry 7130 (?), but not having symbols or numbers readily available will take getting used to.

I had a hard time trying to read the manual last night due to the small print and getting old ☹️ , but I hope to get to the bottom of a couple things today. Such as no "end" key on the front? That doesn't seem right. I have the phone set up to display an end button, but I can't seem to find it.... I end up opening and closing the phone or using the end key inside. How do you hang up on someone without opening and closing the phone? And then it seems I h...

Well that was easy enough. The owner's manual had an answer to just about everything that was bugging me and Verizon said there's nothing you can do to lengthen the time that the phone times out. Probably to do with the touch screen, but it's not THAT sensitive I don't think...

Does anyone know if there's a way to drop the cursor or line down in a text message? No enter key like the envee.....

You need to get past the idea of using the phone all the time with the slider closed. Think of it as a flip phone, but instead of flipping it open to use it or answer calls, just slide it open.

By the way, I returned my Venus today for an enV. Sick of not having hardware navigation buttons. I forgot how nice it was!

Yeah, maybe.....
Seems like if you can answer a call with the slide closed, you should be able to end it without having to either press two buttons (one to reactivate the touch screen), open the the phone and close it again, or press the inside end button.
It's a little quirky, but I haven't had a cell phone that I didn't have something that bothered me. Unless the envee is open, the speakers are muffled and I need a phone that rings loud when it's in its holster. The Venus does ring loud.

I had an enV (now my son has it) and currently have the Venus. No problems with either. I love the Venus because the fonts are larger, I never used the 2nd screen on the enV, and I can type with one hand very easily. The predictive text is fine - it learns words - and I prefer the form factor to the enV. I think the call quality is better on the Venus, no muffling. But, the enV is a fantastic phone if you need a fully qwerty, it has a fantastic camera - really - for a phone, so it's just a matter of personal preference. I love the slider better than flip...but my son loves the enV (he had a samsung U740 previously) b/c the vibe is stronger...hope this helps...

Well coming from an enV, I love the Venus. But I had a Blackberry Pearl and dude if you have a BB and want to go to the Venus, you might wanna rethink...I mean, I just needed a phone that does some other stuff, like Mobile Web, music, and text, and the Venus is cool and I love the 1/2 touch screen, but it's no Blackberry. I didn't have any use for the data plan, but if you like your BB keep it and hope the Curve comes to Verizon...
