Does anyone know how to make the display on the phone stay lit with the date and time displayed? It blacks out after a few seconds whether I have it open or closed.

Try turning the power saver function off, if it has it. Its located under confinguration/settings. I am getting my phone tomorrow, but that is how I did it for every nokia phone I've ever had. Hope this helps.
