RIM Device OS 4.5 Yay Video on the Curve!

Just got my hands on 4.5 and must say I love the improvements for the Curve. I can now record videos, make voice recordings and watch You Tube streaming video!

The browser is significantly improved, I find myself using it more than Opera Mini now. Formatting is better, and now I can copy/paste from web pages.

Everything is running smoothly, just wanted to read some feed back from others who have installed the upgrade.

Correct, I have an "unofficial" version, which is pretty much the same OS that will be on the Bold. I got it from a torrent given to me by a trusted friend. Earlier leaked versions were buggy, but thankfully the one I have is stable, loaded smoothly and has not had one single problem.

I am still connected to EDGE, get my BIS push mail, GPS works fine, applications running perfectly. I'm just pleased my Curve can record video and finally work with YouTube.

This update has been rumored to be coming out for over a year...the bold is now out and I'm still only seeing the desktop s/w on wireless.att.com/bbdownloads....am I looking on the right site or is this s/w upgrade still a rumor?

Go to www.att.com.bbdownloads, select the 8310, you will be able to download the official software from that website. You can also go to

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do »

as it is the same page. Make sure you have the Desktop manager installed, but not running, and the phone has to have wireless disabled and not be connected to the computer when you install the update. Backup, then install the software thru the desktop manager. *there have been some issues with the automatic backup and the automatic update, do these manually from the desktop manager and you should be good to go.
