Message inboxes

All of my email messages go into both the messages inbox and the email inbox. How do I get it to stop? I have the general options set for SMS & email inboxes as separate. I thought this way the email messages would only go in the email inbox and only text messages would go in the messages inbox. I also get phone messages such as missed calls and calls made in the messages inbox. How do I stop those?

Thanks!

Personally I don't really think there is a need to have that messages folder on your desktop.. especially once you seperate sms and mms out into their own inbox. Just hide the messages folder - emails will still go to your email inbox, and texts will still go to the seperated inbox.

Every now and then AT&T or blackberry will send you a message that only goes into that specific messages folder, just unhide it and delete it... then rehide the folder.

hit the green phone to go to call log->blackberry menu key->scroll to options-> call logging->select none. that will seperate your call list from your messages.

I'm new to BB. A windows migrant. How do I separate out my SMS and MMS messages? I was able to go to 'view folder' and then select the folder of choice, but how do I create a shortcut on the desktop for it?
