Note on avoiding the AT&T bloatware
The first says something to the effect of "tap screen to begin using your device."
The second appears shortly after the first and is a dialog box that says something to the effect of "customizations will begin in 3 seconds" with the only button available being "Ok."
Prior to this WM 6.1 ROM, you could hit the soft reset button (small hole above and to the right of the USB port in the bottom of the device) while the second prompt was displayed and that would abort the customization process. The second prompt basically gave you 3 seconds, which was plenty of time to hit reset.
THAT NO LONGER WORKS. If the second prompt is displayed at all, the customizations have started and if you hit reset the device will re-install the new ROM and start over.
In order to avoid the AT&T bloatware, you must hit soft reset BEFORE the second prompt appears. It's not hard, but you have to be reasonably quick. I just inserted the stylus into the soft reset hole, then tapped the screen (as instructed by the first prompt) with my finger, then immediately hit reset with the stylus.
A clean install of WM 6.1 should have 103.16 MB free storage memory and 55.10 MB free program memory. If you allow the AT&T bloatware to install you will only have ~88 MB of free storage memory.
