HTC Tilt 8925 / TyTN II
OH MY DEAR GOD! The Tilt is sssssllllooooowwwww.
My review:
CONS:
Slow---> slower than the Blackjack II who has half the processor power. When you hit the green talk button and TRY to dial a number from the touchscreen it lags like crazy.
Pretty heavy... lighter than any PPC phone I have carried.. but still pretty heavy.
Battery life isn't that great. I hate to compare it to my BJ2, but dang... The Tilt is dead from just staying connected to MSN via 3G where as the BJ2 isn't.
Price---> I took my Tilt back about 4 days after using it. Not worth the funds.
PROS:
Good auto focus 3mp camera
Smaller (size wise) than any PPC I have used
That's ...

My Tilt is faster than a friend's Blackjack II by a noticeable margin. There are a couple of things I find sluggish - rotating the screen being the main one - but otherwise it's quite snappy.
Yeah, it is heavy, but I like that. I have very large hands so for me a big, heavy phone just fits and feels better.
Battery life is about a week for me now that I've learned what to turn off. Sounds to me like you're leaving wi-fi turned on, and that sucks the battery dry in no time. I also turn off Bluetooth unless I'm actually using it, and that helps too.

I never even had wifi on at all... I could fully charge it...take it off the charger at 4 am...then when I get off at 8am it's already lost 10% batt life. That is just sitting ther not connected to anything at all....
You can't tell me that you can dial a number faster on your BJ (even having to hit the FN key), than on your Tilt... The Tilt took way to long to dial the number,,,, I found myself havin to press the same numer numerous times if I tried to dial it to fast.
I want a phone that can keep up with me...
If I don't use it too much, mine will go a day and a half before the basic battery indicator drops off of 100% (which means the battery has reached 75%). I routinely go 3 days before it hits 50%, and that includes daily 30-45 minute conference calls using a Bluetooth headset on the way to work. (It's at 47% right now and it was last charged on Sunday.)
Sounds like for dialing you're comparing a touch screen to physical buttons... of course the touch screen will be slower. The touch screen is plenty fast for me (I can dial a 10-digit number in about 3 seconds on it), but I could always just open the unit and use the keyboard if I needed faster respon...
