Do you think its a bad idea to leave sprint for at&t, sprint never gets any good phones

Sprint doesn't get good phones because they use CDMA Tech. GSM carriers i.e. at&t & T-mobile always get the best phones. It wouldn't be a bad idea to leave Sprint for anyone...

Anyone who leaves a carrier for a phone is a moron. Sprint is is leaps and bounds over the competition when it comes to data pricing and 3G coverage.

Have fund with your data intensive device... with AT&T's insane data pricing.

Sprint $15 unlimited data FTW... even for PDA's!

Good point at&t data pricing sucks, 3g is very limited, and speed of gsm is garbage. Sprint is leaps and bounds ahead with speed and coverage even if they have less customers.

With AT&T's ever growing 3G network you will get a super fast 3G experience! Not to mention that you will get better phone service coverage not just data. After all it is first off a cell phone to make phone calls with!!! Plus you get what you pay for....$15.00 for internet with Sprint doesn't get you much. I've always experienced GREAT speed with AT&T 3G coverage. Also with this phone the world wide coverage is endless. Not to mention if you ever take a trip to China or Japan...whenever that maybe...you will actually be able to use the phone and data features!

One impoortant consideration regarding the 3G services is that you cannot talk and surf at the same time with EV-DO; it is supposedly possible with UMTS/HSDPA.

It is possible...I talk and browse simultaneously without amy problems.EV-(DO)es suck...$15 data plan. It should be for all the dropped calls and bad coverage...

I had Sprint, Nextel, Cingular and Verizon. I am now w/ Verizon. They are the most expensive carrier however you get what you pay for. Any GSM carrier is going to have the best phones b/c all the international phones are GSM technology based. There are plenty of websites were you can buy phones that will never be released in the US through them. Just make sure you are purchasing the phone w/ the same frequency band. Over in Europe and Japan the data speeds are insane they have been doing video phony for the past two or three years I believe. Even Verizon when they started doing sell phones they partnered w/ Vodafone who is a GSM technology based carrier and still have them as partners. Right now in the states technology is faster for CDM...

I will say this i do work for att and I would say that in the industry a sales person like me would only work for AT&T or Verizon I really have had to much problems with any other carrier beside att and tmobile are the only 2 true worldwide service's

Sprint has the 6800 (Mogul). It has almost the same specs as this phone, except the camera (2 megapixels). They both have touchsceen, wifi, and wm6. The Mogul can be upgraded to EVDO REV. A in a few months, so the internet speed will be faster.

uhh huh... and this one can be upgraded to HSUPA so that will be faster than rev A

When I look at HTC's site, it does not say anything about this as a software upgrade similar to what it states for the Mogul?

If the qualcom chip is hsupa compliant then all that is needed is the software upgrade to enable the feature on the network side . I know that we are releasing 2 new air-cards pretty soon which will be hspa compliant (hsdpd/hsupa).

If there's any speed difference its insignificant to the point not worth arguing, but I will say this, and on the whole, I prefer and still like GSM technology, but EVDO seems to lock onto a signal on a phone better then umts.

Nope, can't be done. if you still wish to stick with Sprint/Nextel, you can switch over to the Sprint side and get a Mogul 6800, it also happens to be a very good smartphone.

I've been contemplating LEAVING Sprint for this phone for some time now. I have been w/ Sprint for the last 7 years - last 2.5 using the PPC-6600. I LOVE PPCs.

This "Kaiser II" kicks Sprint's "Mogal" straight in its ASS (providing AT&T dosen't screw w/ it too much)!

So, would I leave Sprint for a better perfoming (Kick Ass) PPC phone (I. e. NO lock ups due to low memory) BUT, possibly be faced with "5x" SLOWER data speeds (Well, I WAS using dial up anyway - NEVER had EVDO)????

HELL YES - WHERE DO I SIGN UP?!!!!!

I was just about to do the same thing, until att said that they dont allow you to put insurance on the pda phones. That made me stop dead in my tracks. Although im tired of sprint I cant take a risk like that

Yep, I agree. AND (yes, I am back peddling now) their "data plans" are ridiculous 😳 ! I don't need for my data plan to be MORE than my home's Hi-speed broadband connection - 😲 GEEZUS!

Someone mentioned about the ability to use it over seas 😎 .... 🙄 I don't NEED TO go over seas!

🤭 Yeah, my champaign taste...just changed to "Boon's Farm Strawberry Hill" 😢 !
