wifi and blackberry service

for those that are having problems with wifi...i finally figured it out

1. people on here are having problems disabling 3g or edge when on wifi...if you go under wireless manager and disable "the tilt icon with two arrows" it temporary gets disabled then re-enables after a minute or so... the reason why it re-enables att/blackberry edge/3g network is because the phone needs to communicate to att's server/blackberry server.. you have to disable the data in another program

2. go under windows-settings-system-blackberry-status when under that setting, click "suspend" this will permantely stop any edge/3g service you then can access wifi and not worry about it connecting to the network thus, utilizing the wifi feature in its full capab...

Interesting... that sounds like a bug to me.

If you have disabled the data network from the Wireless Manager, it should not be possible for any application to re-start it. Isn't that really the point of the Wireless Manager?

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Windows is buggy. 😡
