I'm in college and I don't know if I should get this phone. As a student, I'd like to get this phone since it's pretty much a pocket pc and i'm hoping it will make up for my broken laptop ☚ī¸ . But the kid in me is leaning towards either getting an iPhone or a V9. Help?

The iPhone's interface is simply amazing. It is by far the best feature of the phone, in my opinion. Nothing comes close to its ease of use.

The Tilt, though, is a higher tech device and has more applications that it can run.

Realistically, the iPhone can probably do everything you'll want from a PDA/phone while you're in college, and it does have the cool factor going for it.

But the Tilt is actually cheaper than the iPhone and is a much more robust device technologically.

Personally I think you'd be happy either way. I own the Tilt, though, because there are too many things about the iPhone that just don't sit right. No MMS, no 3G, can't use your own MP3s as ring tones, etc.

get the iphone, you can create your own word documents... just like on your PC!! it can do animations from powerpoint and you can program them in... like apple even says it runs MacOS 10!!!

the iphone is a computer with a phone built into it!! havent you seen the commercials?

The iPhone is highly overrated! I will admit that it has a nifty interface and some fancy things, but these gets old fast and its lack of functionality will get to you. The touch keypad is slow and hard to use, lack of 3G and you are paying for unlimited date cause cheapest monthly plan is $60, cannot use MP3s as ringtones, lack of 3rd party software until Feb 2008, cannot unlock device, not practical because you have to use 2 hands for everything!

I am in college and just bought the tilt. Also since you are in college you may have access to the premier website which gives you a certain percentage discount on your monthly plan (e.g. I pay $35 per month instead of $40 which saves $120 over 2 years). go to this site

for being in college you are the biggest retard!! de deh deeee!!

if you have wifi throughout your college why would you worry about 3g? 🙄

1. I'm not worried about 3g but other people might be. You don't give someone information by telling them how you use a phone, you tell what the phone is capable of regardless.

2. all in all the tilt has MANY more features and is cheaper than the iphone.

3. being able to unlock the phone is a deal breaker for me. If I can't unlock it I won't buy it.

4. the iphone cannot do GPS through an update because it does not have a GPS chip! It will be able to do some kind of tracking thing but it is not true GPS.

5. Good for you, itunes for ringtones, you are sooo smart, I have learned something new.

You can't use your iTunes to play as ring tones. You have to PAY EXTRA to have a clip of a song made into a separate ring tone for you to use.

On my tilt, I can use any MP3 as a ring tone. Which means I can make my own using software like Audacity, or I can use one that I bought.

Sorry, but really the only thing that the iPhone has going for it is the interface.

I work for at&t...im a 19 year old college student as well...and trust me its an amazing investment...it does practically everything. The best phone I've ever owned...it's got 3g and the iphone doesnt...also it has wifi and gps and a 3 megapixel camera with the capabilites of sending pics and videos...unlike the iphone. i believe it is the iphone killer...as long as you get a memory card.

BUY IT
