spent the day with these phones. a little review and comparison...
i placed a few calls, and this phone won again. id say sound quality as good as a fusic/muziq, with obviously similar reception. thats of course situational, but ive always had exceptional experiences with those phones.
the screen wasnt my fav (the sanyos and the samsung won there) but its not shabby by any means, even the camera seemed exceptional for only being a 1.3
the sound. this was very important to me, especially since these are cutting into the "nextel" side of things. the samsung was ok, but personalized ringtones were weak sounding, though clear. imo.
the sanyos: wtf? they need to bring back the 8000 series and the 7000 series phones. when i buy a sanyo, i want it to, and expect it to, sound similar to the 7500, where you had to be in a coma not to hear it. and clear at that. sanyo has stepped away from this, especially after the M1. i dont understand. even the katana dlx is weak in comparison, but at least its clear on that phone, these phones sound like louder versions of an 8100/8200. also the sanyo phones had rapid fluctuating signal (like the instinct). in the store mind you. and i had to restart them in order for an evdo connection to be made. i simply wasnt impressed with the quality. wtf happened to sanyo? i know technically its not sanyo anymore, but wow, what a difference.
the lg, in my opinion had fantastic sound. it doesnt rival the old sanyos or touch the motos, but its louder and better than the others. it was acceptable and clear and doesnt distort at high volume.
one can argue style, but i thought it looked the best of the bunch too. id say if they put a 2.0 meg with the higher res screen of the sanyo, theyd have a supurb device for anyone needing/wanting one of that kind. but its more than acceptable as it is.
im really interested to hear user stories!
