First off, I don't spend a ton of time on the phone, so you need to take that into account.
I recharge the phone every few day. If I take photos, video or talk a lot, then it's more frequent, but I have never thought of my phone as having a short battery life.
My hearing kind of stinks. My wife is always having to repeat herself. I can hear this phone just fine, however, I wish the speaker phone was louder.
When the phone is closed it is locked, so it doesn't log on to the internet when it's in your backpack, pocket etc... Whenever the button gets bumped while it's locked it prompts you to unlock the phone. It can be unlocked to work without sliding it open. My old Sony Walkman phone would log on to the internet all the time because you would have to manually lock it. Once the lock broke, I decided it was time for a new phone.
The phone does not seem to overheat to me, but again, I've never talked for more than an hour at a time.
