i currently have the lg vx8600 (flip chocolate i guess you could call it). i originally had a 8100 and *loved* it. when the 8300 came out i thought about upgrading to that, but the fact that it did not have that flashy light that blinked or you couldnt read messages on the front really bugged me...

now the 8350 is out, and the initial appearance does not look so hot, but i am really attracted to how it does not have any touch sensor buttons and how you can read text messages on the front.

the one thing i worry about is the thinness factor. i have gotten use to a thin phone with my 8600 and i really am dubious about getting the 8350. on top of that, i like to get the extended batteries cuz i hate charging my phone often....

so i as...

I'm in the same boat. Have an 8600 and due for an upgrade. However, I am holding out for the LG vx10000 and Lg vx8800. Head over to phonearena and engadget, they have photos. definately worth waiting for.

There isn't much to say... if you checked out the VX8800 and VX10000 and didn't really dig them, then the only other phone that's upcoming for LG for Verizon is the 5400, which seems to be just a cheap (and rather ugly) replacement for the 5300.

Your best bet if you want to stay with LG is to go with either the 8700 or the 8350. Perhaps even an 8300, if you act fast and can still find one.

The 8700 is still a slim phone, and has a better speakerphone than the 8600 (that isn't saying much, though... anything is better than the 8600's speakerphone).

The 8350 isn't quite slim, but is probably a better all-around phone than either the 8600 or 8700. It isn't as good-looking as the 8700 though.

The 8300 is a good all-around pho...

I just received my phone on Friday & so far, I think it's a great phone. A lot of it is personal preference & what you are looking for in a phone. The voice command works really well. You hit the voice command key and say "Call Home" You can change the prompts to "readout" & it tells you what menu you are on or what #'s you are pressing. Also, you can say "Go to EZ Tip Calculator" or any of the menu options & it will go right to it. You can restrict the phone to only call #'s that are programmed in your Contacts. If you are registered as a "My Account" user on verizonwireless.com and download Backup Assistant for free, then all of your Contacts are backed-up online so you can print them & transfer to your new phone. The Contacts now ...
