Processor Speed on the new Q?
Does anyone know the new Q's processor speed? And what processor type it has?
If its the same as the old Q, its gonna be sloooooow.

312 MHz. Same and yes, it's slow.

Makes you wonder what it's like to use a MDA, 8125, or Wing. Their processors are around 200. 😲
...
I have an MDA and a Dash. They're slow, but liveable.

I had a Sprint Q before i switched to a Dash.( 2 dealer lines), while i miss the EVDO data speed of the Q, overall operation of the Dash is faster. It lags less than the Q, i compared the two side to side, opening the same apps, before switching.
The processor is slower in the Dash but more efficient, the slower processor is also part of the reason for the increased battery life of the Dash compared to the Q.

So if the Dash has a slower processor but opens apps much faster, what do you think may be the issue in the Q? If a Q has a faster processor, I would expect it to operate faster. Could there be a registry hack avail for the Q? My only assumption is that Verizon toned down the govener of the Q's usable processing speed in order to increase battery life. As we all know phones on the CDMA network use up more battery life due to the way CDMA constantly processes the signal. Maybe the CDMA connection is where most of the processing speed is allocated.
Oh well. It is what it is.
Id rather have Verizons coverage and EVDO and wait an extra second to open my application.

Exactly. So people in the T-Mobile forum need to shut the **** up. Egde is sufficient! People are always in a hurry to go nowhere. I am interested, however, to see if the Q9m will be any different. The Dash has wi-fi and is not crippled [as far as I know], let them try to beat that!

i have used it as a demo and its alot faster than the old Q. not sure how the battery life is but it seems like a nice update
