What is the big deal about 3G. I'm sure life is just fine right now without 3G on the Blackberry ๐Ÿคจ

I've had Cingular before and there Edge technology is really slow compared to Verizon EVDO technology. However, I use an old Motorola E815 and have used the device as a modem to my laptop of the past year or two. This is before they installed the firmware and you can use the device as a modem and tether for free. Well not free b/c it cost you minutes but you catch my drift. You don't even need to get V-Cast. Anyway, b/c the device has an internal antenna it works @ speeds of 250-290 Kbps whereas the E815 works from 350 Kbps up to the highest I've seen @ 500 Kbps. The speeds made me go back to Verizon and I've never looked back.

Real estate developer. What can I say I need my information quick ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Verizon is expensive and they don't cut you any breaks but they are the best serviced I used. I'd like to go w/ an unblocked GSM phone but my experience w/ Verizon service has been much better than AT&T. I've never had T-Mobile b/c they don't have 3G phones and I know they drop a lot of calls b/c many of my friends use the phone since they had a contract w/ the City of Philadelphia.

you do realize that EVDO is CDMA version of at&t 3g. its a wireless broadband network.edge is 2g. what i want you to do davey is take an at&t edge device and put it up speed for speed against verizons 1xRTT and you will see the difference in the 2g technologies. especially if you go against a blackberry which can run faster than most 3g devices before you modify its ssettings. then i want you to take your EVDO and match it with a 3g device, lets say the at&t 8525. tell me which is faster. 8525 must be in 3g coverage area. ๐Ÿ˜

maybe EV-DO should catch up to 3G, it's been my experience that the EDGE where I live is faster than the "3G" Sprint in my area.
