Dear SE, Please give us a 3G phone with Symbian (UIQ)

Is it REALLY that hard? I don't understand why Nokia or SE will give the US market a phone with a good OS such as Symbian (think of all the software that is out there) on a 3G device. I know that the US market always lags, but I have had my damn 2.5G device with symbian for 2 years and am not giving it up. Technology should move forward. I am not giving up the ability to run any program I want (like TOMTOM, opera, Gameboy emulaters, etc) just for a 3G connection.

Wake up people!

But the N75 uses S60, not UIQ.

i think the SE W960 has both symbian and UIQ (the phone is in both of their websites front pages) so if its true (in the US) then be happy and get one cause i damn sure am. 😁

SE W960 Doesn't have ATT frequencies. And if it ain't on ATT then it's not 3G in the US. Tmobile can complain all they want, but all they have is EDGE.

No GSM 850 or UMTS 850, no deal.

What good is WIFI without a hotspot? I hardly have access to hotspots, but I do have cell phone reception.

anyways, this thread has grown out of proportion.

AT&T doesn't have that many areas with 3G that use the 3G 850MHz band. Most of their 3G is on the 1900MHz band so far.

People that have AT&T know that. Mostly AT&T's 3G is on the 1900MHz band. They are trying to use the 850MHz band too. They have a lot of 1900MHz spectrum, so thats why they did that.

If that statement were true, at&t would have launched the Nokia 6282 (it didn't launch cuz it didn't have 850).

It is true. AT&T is using 3G mostly on the 1900MHz band, with a few select markets on the 850MHz network. The Nokia 6282 had problems, and AT&T is strict about launching phones that have problems with their network. You can't say thats not true just cause a phone that you wanted didn't come out.
