Sammy phone support was useless, website has no details.

Can anyone verify that the Gleam will take advantage of Class 4 speed, or of cards larger than 2GB?

Based on the Verizon Wireless website for the Gleam, it supports up to 4GB. That's better than my Samsung a930, which only supports up to 1GB.
