It's my understanding that this phone will be special order for most stores. It will primarily be available through Radio Shacks and Best Buys nation wide.

I do like it though. Very slick, and for the right price. probably around $49.99 after rebates.

Does any of the ATT Mobility folks have any information of the release date of the A517?
Thanks!

Look for it at Radio Shack the third week of October. We'll have a big push for this particular model.

The A717 looks like it'll be a nice basic phone! I haven't compared the specs, but is this basically an EDGE version of the A717 without the rotating barrel camera?

it's officially launched for AT&T and can be ordered it's just a matter of when it actually ships.

The A517 just showed up on AT&T's website. It's going for $250 outright, or $50 with 2 year contract. I also heard that it will be available at Radio Shack soon. I'm interested in this phone. Has anyone seen it?

In stock at most Radio Shacks... $20 with new activation and $20 after rebate on upgrade.

Played with it again today. It's the A707 lite... b/w front screen instead of color, more sensative front controls for MP3... No 3G data, instead it's EDGE and no CV. With the price of the Sync right now though, this is basically a phone that people will get for it's looks and if you don't have a SYNC in stock... though it's a lot more slim than the Sync.

We officially list this as the Samsung Lion. Only downside right now is it uses the lower tier Samsung charging port (M300, etc...). Going to be hard to get a car charger on that for RS associates since iGo doesn't have a tip for it yet...
