Hey geniuses, its a mid-tier phone.
It isnt meant to play MP3
It isnt meant to do PV
It isnt meant to compete with the RAZR
It isnt meant to do any of that.
Its meant to have people come in and go, oh wow, that phone is cute, and its only 50 dollars.. and its a Sanyo, great, Ill take one.

Theres a reason the Katana outsells every phone we carry.

The so called mis-spelling is obviously intentional and also, I might add, very funny. You might not have ever heard of that expression but it's just a playful way of letting someone know you disagree with them. That is all... Didn't know that phone forums were filled with spell check addicts. Shouldn't you be at the ms word spell check forum? http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php ?t=18136

That was my 2 cents. Have a great day!

It's annoying when people rant and rave about how a phone doesn't have this feature or that feature. Not all phones are supposed to do everything and wash the dog. Most people come in and say "All I need is a phone that I can make calls on. I don't need all that other stuff." The only people who are interested in mp3 players and watching TV on their phones are younger people and 85% of younger people can't afford to pay the deposit on a phone of their own let alone shell out hundreds again for a high-end phone. That is why the Katana (and potentially the Katana II) works so well. People can get features they'll use and not pay a fortune. Not to mention it gets better reception than the RAZR and better battery life. What's the point in...

Yes People do say they don't want all the features but the truth is a month later they come back either to ask how to do something or to bitch because you sold them something that the device can't do. People do want the extras they just want it to be free.

His use of "Morans" might have been tongue in cheek, if he happens to frequent Fark i can see why he would use the word.

It's a commonly used (it's somewhat of a meme on fark.com) misspelling of the word that came from a war supporter who was demonstrating across the street from some war protesters. His banner said "Get a brain Morans, Go USA"

In defense of his use of "Morans"...

The term is very common. You'd have to live under a rock to have not seen this:

And here's a link to the Urban Dictionary entry on "Moran", which has extensive linkage to the history of the term:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=moran »

And according to their most agreed upon definition.. he used it not only correctly, but extremely appropriately considering he's referring to all of you "Morans" who have an opposing opinion.

Don't you people have anything better to do than call people out and hating on them for grammatical errors and references so geeky they're over your heads?

You guys need to keep up.

Most people don't understand the idea of fark so when posting on a forum that generates replies from people of all walks of life you can't expect everyone to get it. Its like using AOL speak or L337 speak. You either sound dumb or people don't understand.

I come on here to read about the issues with the new katana and instead I get to read this entertaining thread. Thank you.....you guys are just too funny squabbling over moron/moran.....potato/potato, folks. Go easy on WhoDey.....he sounds like he works sales and like he has to tolerate some pretty stupid people. Let me tell you there are alot of idiots out there who have a hard time even wiping their bum much less operating a simple cell phone.
