I have this phone and i can use t-zones, email, picture messaging and regular internet (if i had it i don't need it).
You just have to configure it with t-mobile settings since it's an unlocked phone. To do that go to t-mobile.com , find the picture messaging FAQ and click on the link provided on the last FAQ because it's about unlocked phones. Read the third paragraph and there is a link to something called a wireless configurator: http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/
From there you can do it all
of course you can do all this manually but it's harder and more complicated.. This works fo sure i did it and my brother did it with his unlocked nokia 8801
