Held and played with it for ten minutes... then the "wow" dimmed a little and it became a slightly thinner version of my V3xx.

Maybe in a year or two when my new V3xx is ready for an upgrade. But I'm not paying hundreds more just to end up with my same V3xx with a different suit of clothes on.

One more thing, and please, I'm not inviting "well then just go back to them" comments... really.

I've been with Cingular/AT&T for almost two years using a V3, and now a V3xx - without any problems... and previously with VZW using their V3c up until the pink version of the V3c came out in 04/06.
Then we switched because I started reading these forums and became aware of just what a greedy little company Verizon is when it comes to their equi...

"THE ONLY cell phones with THIS much "LAND-LINE QUALITY sense of ones own voice and volume".
Like a HOME-PHONE!
The difference just ticks me off everytime I talk on a freinds V3m, or my brother's Maxx ve."

????????

OK, mean while back on the ranch...verizons v3s are CRAP! Horrible menu with horrible software. Geez. By the way from what Ive read the v8s are much better than the v9s, yes the v9s are pretty similar to the v3xx.

Yes but the V8, for whatever stupid reason, does NOT have a memory card slot!

Because Verizon and their equipment for lack of a better word suck!!

As far as the V9's price, when the V3 came out it was the $300 or more with a 2ysa. The V9 which is far and away superior to any other RAZR or any other phone period is easily worth the price.

isn't it just a re-packaged V3xx with a bigger outer screen? i'd imagine voice quality is the same (which on V3xx is quite good).

The voice is better!! Larger screen, improved interface, better camera & video capabilities, and it's 4gig sd compatible......just to name a few improvements off the top of my head. If you don't get this phone your just hurting yourself.

Just had to threaten with leaving for Verizon as they are 99.99 through Amazon.com, and they price matched for both phones on my family plan. Two new V9's at 99.99 each.

If you are staying with AT and T and want this phone as an upgrade then you can go to Amazon.com and get it for 99 bucks!! Only problem I had to get another 2 yr contract but there are no other decent wireless providers here so know I will be staying with AT and T. I even got free 2 day shipping! Now just waitin for them to ship the thing. Their idea of 2 day is not really 2 day. Is taking them forever to get it mailed out so then after they decide to mail it out THEN it will take the 2 days...geesh. I hope I don't regret gettin this phone. I usually buy unlocked.

OK..got the phone today and am setting it up. I guess I am spoiled. Can do alot more with my N76 but will keep this V9 for awhile and bet ya I sell it on ebay. LOL Glad I could use my Krzr usb attachment cos they dont give ya any.All I got was a mini converter but still needed my Krzr usb to connect the darn thing to the computer. I bought my earlier Krzr unlocked and got all I needed with it. This will be the LAST branded phone I get. The screen on my Nokia N76 is bigger than this one too. But overall the phone is ok I guess. Not that excited. So far the calls have not dropped and seem clear. They sent me another SIM card too that I have not activated. I could even use my memory card from my Krzr in this phone too.
