What are we missing with no WiFi?
I know I should know this, but I really only have a sorta vague idea of what WiFi truly offers that EDGE does not. Would someone explain what someone with a Curve (no WiFi) is missing out on? I hear T-Mobile is getting a WiFi Curve next month.
I know there's a difference in how data is transmitted and all that, but I'm more interested in knowing differences that I would notice as a "user" of the current Curve. Can one tell the difference in speed of anything you'd do with the Blackberry?

WiFi is 'hotspot' internet access. It allows your device to link to a wireless router (802.11).
Upside is it's fast. Much faster than EDGE.
Downside is that it's short range.

EDGE is basically 128kb like a dial up modem while wifi on broadband could be much higher, like a meg or two or more.

I thought ATT upgraded the EDGE network upon the launch of the iPhone, and isn't EDGE NOW capable of something like 256kbps?
All the time I wonder how much longer it's going to be until there's an HSDPA/HSUPA Blackberry!?!?!?!?!? Heck, I know ther's an EVDO equipped Blackberry, who not a GSM 3G one??? It really boggles me!
