thinking of switching

I am thinking of switching from Verizon to Cingular in order to get either the BB Curve or Pearl. My concern is downgrading from the 3g speed to the slower Edge speed. I use the web browsing a lot so my question is...how much slower is the edge vs. 3g (evdo)? Is it a deal breaker?

I switched from Verizon a few months ago and I feel like edge/blackberry is just as good as evdo/pda. I don't know for sure, you are going to need an expert, but I will say this; I am so glad I switched the network and the blackberries are working out great for me. I have the curve by the way.

Hi,
I just got the curve and I was wondering if you could tell me how I change the ringtone alerts for my email and text messaging. I had the Pearl and used to change them all the time, but I can't figure it out on this darned thing and can't find anything that covers that in the manual or online guide. Thanks.

Go to profiles, then advanced then click on like normal and you are there. Let me know if you need more help. 🙂

No, I mean like, when I get an email, a certain tone rings and then a different one for text messages to alert me. How do I change that?

I just switched from Verizon where I had a 700w. I got a Nokia N75 first, had it 1 wk and traded it for the curve. I'm loving it! Browsing seems as fast as 700w but the curve has so much more to offer. I don't miss the touch screen at all, in fact I like not accidently going into other programs while talking on the phone (which I did everytime I didn't use my bluetooth). This was my first BB and I've been very pleasantly surprised.

Did it 2 weeks ago and I am glad I did. The curve is an amazing phone. I got tired of having Verizon disable features in their phones. I even did not mind paying the early termination fee. I was with Verizon for a very long time. They have been calling me to come back before my 30 days run up - and they even offered me $25 extra off of a new phone - wow! Have no complaints about AT&T yet (but I am sure I will eventually because I think all the companies stink on some level) but am happy that I have a phone with all of its features activated. 3g speed? I don't think that is a deal breaker. Verizon has better coverage in some areas, AT&T in other, but generally they are both about equal. The coverage can be a deal breaker for some pe...
