I had the 8525 when I initially signed up with at&t 2 months ago, I liked it but it was very high maintenance. I took advantage of my 30 exchange and got the red pearl. It is/was excellent, I just cant deal with the keyboard. I got the curve today, so far its money, form factor, color, style, everything is gorgeous.

the thing i think i like more about the idea of the curve is that you can dial a number at anytime where as you have to get to the phone on the 8525. but then i dont know if i can deal without touchscreen

I'll tell you what, I thought I needed a touchscreen too, I had treo's and the 8525 but the trackball on the pearl/curve/etc is amazing. I am a wizard with it now. I love blackberries.

the curve is simplified, I didnt even come close to using all the stuff on the 8525, it was a high maintenance machine that I couldn't handle.

The curve is faster, e-mail is amazing, no freeze ups or lock ups like my 8525 had. It's better.

Just remember, the Curve is not 3 g HSDPA, doesn't have near the aps of winmobile, the latest upgrade does improve the 8525 significantly.
I also think both are fantastic, so pick which works for you. If email, push especially is your priority with texting and light browsing, the Curve is fine, no phone does it better then BB's. If you want more internet ablity, more media stuff, use of applications, medical ones especially, then its the 8525.

I'm finding more and more that a blackberry on EDGE actually feels faster then a WM5 OS phone running on 3g. WM5 is just not fast enough.
