Sprint 8830 dropping from 1XEV to 1x?

has anyone else had this problem? i just got my 8830 running yesterday, and it keeps dropping from 1XEV to 1x and, when it does this, BB messenger, e-mail, and web/data based apps all don't work.

anyone else had this problem?

i got ahold of tech, and they took the data package off, and replaced it. that didn't do it, so i had to perform a hard reset 😢 and re-program/provision my phone. it's worked flawlessly since then.
