Is Sprint really that bad?

I am new to posting, but I have been reading everyone's comments on the 755p. Thanks to everyone who has really done their research, it has been very helpful.

I am planning on buying a smartphone for the first time (I have been using the Tungsten C for the past 5 years) and I really like the 755p. I use it primarily for medical purposes (I am a resident physician), but I would like to have the phone/PDA combo. I keep seeing everyone hype up Verizon, and I have also had a bad experience with Sprint (like 10 years ago). My question is, if I can get the 755p with a much cheaper plan through Sprint (my hospital gets me 23% off my plan through Sprint, 17% through Verizon), is it even a second thought of me considering waiting for it to com...

Personally...i've had both companies. I love verizons customer care, thats primarily why Im with them. Sprint doesnt fare so well in that department. If your a physician, I'm sure 6% a month difference on a cell bill wont affect your wallet very much.

Go for the better company, better service, and better customer care.

Go Verizon. The phone should be out in July on the VZW network.

Well I am a resident physician, so I am still not making much (compared to after residency), so I am still looking for a cheaper deal. I do appreciate the info though, thanks for posting back to me.

Well, I use Sprint. I love Sprint, especially for their internet services.

Plus, Verizon will charge you $40/month for web services on a Palm where Sprint will only charge you $15-20 depending on the package you choose. So now you are talking about 6% + $20. That's not a tough choice.

Plus you have 30 days to decide, if you don't like it, return it.

I like Sprint. I have used it for over 10 years.

If you are looking to get the 755, you will probably get a data-plan. you will be happy to find out that they have the fastest speed as well as the cheapest plan... and best digital coverage.

I just switched to sprint and got the 755P. I had cingular with the cingular 8525. I agree the customer service is bad. But the website and automated features make it easy to self service yourself if you are competent. The coverage is the best far better than verizon and the web is blazing fast. 😁 goto your sprint store early one morning when its slow so a rep can spend some time with you so you can feel more comfortable with your choice. Don't worry 30 day satisfaction guarantee protects you if you change your mind.

I'll give you the lowdown.

First - the phone. I hate my 755P. Some of the features are great. Blazer sucks if you are very used to using Internet Explorer. The email also doesn't work with any web-based email. The blue tooth is very poor and the phone resets itself alot and freezes. You think they would have fixed it since the previous phones. I tried getting it replaced, and the store can't even get the new one programmed. 2 visits and still haven't gotten it done. If you're going to get a PDA, the $7 insurance is well worth the money.

Now Sprint. The pricing and phone service is good. Verizon's data plan is almost $50 bucks a month, compared to Sprint for $20. Just hope you don't have to call them or switch the phone ou...

ok matty, of course you like the phone, hence you HAD a 700WX, but thats not saying a thing cause thats a windowz box. so of course it is going to reboot.

I have the 755P and i havent had any problems than what you are having..ive had to reboot it 3 times so far and that cause of software i installed.

The blazer is fast, not the fastest but fast. there are other web browsers there u can install. I mean c'mon its a palm and there are apps u install to make it "yours". Bluetooth is fine on it, i have a Bang and Olufsen EarSet2 - yes a $350plus ear piece that works perfectly with it.

I ahve the Q on Verizon and the 755P on sprint, not tomention i am a networking professional whos had 6 different phones over the course of the year and h...

I had to chime in on this. I don't even have a Palm Treo but I can tell you about Sprint, Verizon, Cingular and T-Mobile.

I suggest you wait for Verizon to get the phone or get the 700WX. Verizon is expensive but you get what you pay for. Better customer service, no dropped calls and better data speeds.

Cingular was cool. The customer service even will cut you a break on minutes if you go over. @ the time they had EDGE so the data speeds where much too slow so I went back to Verizon. Also, when the phone rings it causes interference w/ the TV, radios or some computers. That scared the hell out of me. They also dropped a lot of calls.

The worst company I ever had was Nextel! Second to the last was Sprint. So now that they've pa...

Well I have had sprint for 12 years ever sence they came out with it in GREEN BAY! I worked for other companies like vzw & wireless sloutions where we sold them all. So I know the in's and outs AT&T was the worst. So yes there is some good cust serv. in other place but for the service and the quality of the calls and data sprint is the way to go. I swear by them I have canceled service, retuned phones, switched plans, got info and help. you namne it and they always helped me.

I own the 755p, I had the 700p and really am happy with the upgrade. Service wise sprint and Verizon are a little different, here is the primary question you need to ask yourself,

Do you use your phone primarily in urban areas or out in the country? If you said urban than sprint is going to be no problem with you, if its boonies than I would say go with verizon, I currently have both and where I live in VA my Verizon phone is in extended network but my sprint phone works fine, and I get all the data stuff.

Personally I like them both but if you are in the city give sprint a try, if your out in the country go with VZW.

As others say, I like Sprints service and network, but their CS sux bigtime. I you can hook up a SERO plan this trade off could be worth it. Just understand, 45-90 mins wait to get to CS on phone. If you have little or no CS problems, they are fine.
