Believe they make a few more things than phones.. but yeah, wonder how profitable that has actually been for them. They also make a few products for "wireless broadband." (routers, laptop cards)

👿 i too am suprised that they still make phones. this company should take every phone idea that they are geting ready to come out with and take it back to the shop and trash it, then take a popular phone company like sony or nokia and make their phones like that.

Back when I was a wireless manager with Circuit City, Kyocera was a joke, an afterthought...but I've been seeing some really cool designs from them lately. At least they got that down.

Not sure about the quality, though.

Actually, I am finding my Kyocera Switchback quite a cost effective, low end version of the IPHONE. Excellent for web browsing and email via google mail, etc.

Kyocera phones have had real problems, but they have also had some successes. The Oystr, once its firmware was fixed, is quite a nice functioning phone, with many features, at modest cost. The Cyclops is well regarded.
