HTC Mogul / XV6800 / PPC6800 / P4000

Out of the blue active sync 4.5 has stopped working with my Verizon VX6800. It is simply not seeing my phone when I start up active sync.saying no device found(yes,I have tried several different cords and it does charge the phone). I have tried EVERY solution suggested from Microsoft and others. I’m pretty sure that the problem is the phone since I installed active sync on 2 other computers and both could not find the phone. Also in setting when I go to “USB to PC” it flashes a white screen with USB to PC at the top and then reverts back to the previous screen. Any ideas on this one? I hate to do a hard reset if I can help it.
