Sprint Marketing Sucks

Why is it that when Sprint finally gets an exclusive(even if just temporary)on a smart phone they don't advertise it? AT&Tular is advertising the iphone like crazy and it's not even out, Verizon is advertising the 8830 quite a lot too. Sprint has the first CDMA WM6 phone (at least I couldn't find a Verizon one) and also the first Rev a capable phone on the market and the only people that know about them are the die hard sprint customers or people who are ready to throw their 6700 against a brick wall.
ok I'm done. 😎

just like the hybrids bro...select markets only in the beginning. The dont advertise the Rev-A cuz the phone doesn't come Rev-A....its Rev-A CAPABLE with a software upgrade this fall...they wanna see how its gonna sell in the market...

Not advertising the PowerSource phones was a little different though because it can be taken as saying Nextel coverage/call quality/almost everything except Direct Connect sucks. Sprint not advertising the 6800 when the two main competitors are advertising PDA phones just seems silly. Currently they are pouring their money in advertising the Upstage (which is almost unusable for most 35+ year olds) and the Red Razr (isn't the v3 about 3 years old now?).
I was really hoping that Sprint's new marketing company would have their act together for advertising new products... maybe these ads were producted by the old company... either way the only people that come in my store asking about PDA's are people who ask "do you guys have the iphone?" ...

i've come to the conclusion that 99% of people in marketing are compete morons, or they are just plain stupid...

reputation speaks for itself. Sprint doesn't need to sell itself. Yes it would help sells... but Sprint isn't exactly hurting to meet it's numbers like AT&T with all it's customers jumping ship like wet rats after the merger, de merger, then merger... And Vizzy doesn't really advertise either. Unless you're in their store. The whole "Can you hear me now" campaign has kinda died down.

You don't exactly see Lambo commercials or Porche Commercials do you? But they never have a problem selling. Well consider Sprint and Vizzy the high enders that sell them selves.

I love Sprint, but I can't quite agree with that. I don't see people rushing into my store for.. anything.

Sprint hasn't had an advertising campaign in years, and they need one. They need to make people remember that they are here and they aren't going anywhere!!

Well Sprint has a real good rep. EXCEPT when it comes to their Customer Care...you are almost always going to get the "run-around"

I agree. I never stated additional advertisments wouldn't hurt. But Sprint is putting all it's money into the WiMax and EVDO update nation wide right now. They are trying to catch up to Vizzy in the EVDO department and they are MORE THAN LEADING the way in the WiMax department. As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather have them spend their marketing money on the network than on a couple of commercials that will be outdated in just a few months. I'd take that any day... But that's just me.. If you'd rather see a couple of twenty second commercials instead of having a stronger and bigger network... Then, maybe AT&T is for you. I mean didn't AT&T just BARLEY this last year launch their 3G? And Sprint has had 3G since... um.... uh.... 2000!??!?!? Tru...

Hmm ok I didn't necessarily mean that Sprint should be pouring a ton more money into advertising campaigns (although you do have to spend money to make money) I was more pointing out the fact that they should refocus the money they are already spending on marketing to include more then just the Upstage.
Also how exactly does Sprint need to catch up to Verizon in EVDO? Last I checked it was Verizon catching up to Sprint in the Rev-A department.
