You can't really go by what Cellhut charges for a new released phone, I've seen them do stuff like that, then a few weeks or a month later it's half the price. About a year ago, Cellhut gave me a good deal on a 6270, so go figure?

🤣

...seriously, though... No, it will not be an expensive phone.

Someone may be trying to rip you off on an import model by taking advantage of the fact that you can't buy it in the US yet, but this actually quite an entry-level phone.

With that said, IMHO Nokia did do an impressive job of fitting in some nice features for the price. A memory card slot and stereo Bluetooth are unexpected on a phone that will sell for the price I expect this to sell for.

This will replace the 6102i and 6103, phones that sell for $-50 with contract right now.

Rich,

Have you any idea of the estimated time of arrival for this phone? Also have you heard of a phone/pda that has a qwerty board for texting but does not hook up to the internet. I just like to text.

Thanks

Nearly ALL phones technically connect to the Internet these days. That's not something you can exclude, especially on a phone with a keyboard or any advanced / interesting features like that.

Internet connectivity is not something that adds any size, weight, or cost to a phone - at all - so there's no reason to want a phone without it. 😕

If you don't want to pay extra for unlimited data service, then just don't sign up f...

Usually not. Some carriers are weird about special phones like the Sidekick or BlackBerry, but outside of those, no, you shouldn't be required to have a special data plan.

I have heard of special discounts or rebates that require plan x, but don't let a salesperson tell you the phone requires that plan; the plan is only required if you want that discount/rebate on the up-front price.

Perhaps that is what it was. I dont want to pay retail for the phone (E62). It would be when I upgraded with a 1 or 2 year contract. (the way cingy is acting though lately I dont even know about that.) But is that what you are considering a discount an upgrade?
