Sprint Mobile Email is a free application available for download. As long as you have a data pack ($10/month is okay), you'll be able to access gmail, yahoo, msn, hotmail, aol, POP3 or IMAP email addresses.
It even supports "push" type technology by sending a text message when you have a new email available. I use it, and it's a pretty cool app, works quite well.
