so ATT steps up its edge network and verizon still comes out with 1xrtt phones! ๐Ÿคฃ ! I'm really proud all the verizon fans out there defend their service so much so they can get smacked in the face with reality!! ๐Ÿ˜›

Every carrier has entry-level phones. Here's a list of current AT&T phones don't even have EDGE - just GPRS:

The 2610 C3b and C120 are fairly new, and who says the W385 will be crazy expensive?

EVDO is equivalent to HSDPA. Why would you knock a Verizon phone for not having EVDO? Do you think it's silly for AT&T to come with new phones that aren't HSDPA?

My point is really that some phones are simply designed to be as cheap as possible. Not are phones are intended to be loaded with features.
