Recording longer than 1 minute

Some reviews state that you can't record longer than a minute. Is there any way to get around this limitation? I want to record to SD card sometimes for longer than 1 hr.

Does it record to WAV file format?

To clarify, I mean audio recording for taking notes during meetings etc...

I haven't found a way around this. I have not been able to record a voice memo anywhere other than in the phone's internal memory.
