well it was a total joke with a slight seriousness, so i shall elaborate...the m1, while WAY under promoted and a great phone it's not what i would consider trendy. by trendy i was referring to the razr, krzr, chocolate, pearl, ect. all of those phones are substandard in my book but they are popular and thus coveted by many people. the upstage will undoubtedly be one of those nest phones. which in the end, is the basis of the comment.

Please tell me what's "substandard" about the Pearl...odd to lump it in with a more obvious misfire like the Choc. Have you owned a Pearl? Its a great and, I've come to think, underrated device.

The Pearl is a mistake. It doesn't have a fully functional keyboard for one thing, and a fully functional keyboard is, in my opinion, one of the biggest reasons to get a Blackberry.

I wonder if you actually own a Pearl. Also, what does "Fully Functional" mean? I was extremely sceptical myself, coming from the full Querty Keyboard of the Treo. The keyboard does everything a full one does, so I don't really understand what you mean about "fully functional" which implies that the keyboard doesn't work. Also, the Pearl is one device in a line of devices and, for many people, its a great solution. I find it a very powerful device with a great form factor. Especially after the size and weight of the Treo, which I also really liked. To say its a mistake speaks of just a lack of time spen...

Your perfect example is only one example. And the M1 isn't as trendy as say the en-V or Chocolate or iPhone or a dozen other phones from other carriers.

The fact is, Sprint is way behind in the trendy factor. And I say this lovingly and with hope that things will improve, as they seem to be with the UpStage.
