Will Be Tough For Others To Catch Up.
The haters are going crazy on this forum w/ those comments.I can understand their situation but have no pity for them whatsoever. 😁
Anyway,it's gonna be a long time before we see a manufacturer come out with something leveling or surpassing the Iphone besides something w/ 3G.
Back in January,Apple said they have over 200 Patents on the Iphone.
So it became much harder for other companies to use and have the same features that are on the Iphone.No wonder,HTC tried to come close with the Touch but failed to make an impact. 😡

What can the iphone do that a treo 700P can't? Really though, I wanna know cuz I'm gonna get one or the other and as it stands now, with all the third party software that a treo can use it seems like it can do much more. Its just that the iphone carries such a real 'cool factor', am I right or totally wrong on this one?

DOn't get me wrong, I'm not an Iphone hater, but the price and the demand are strictly for the wow/cool factor. Besides most people who want one aren't gonna be able to get one anyway. You have to be eligible for an upgrade or new service. bet you a dime to a dollar that the price will be down around christmas

you don't need to be eligible for an upgrade. Since the phone is all ready at full price, all you have to do is renew a 2 year contract

10. Best SMS out there.
11. The best phone functions hands down. Call transfers, concerence calls, share photos while talking, etc.
12. The best Operating System on the planet.
13. Best screen.
ALso, keep in mind that this is just the FIRST version. FUTURE versions willeven get better.

i'm not saying against the phone, but thats not a very strong case, there are a lot of phones with a lot of those features

the iphone actually does less than most pdas and it even does it SLOWER!! the only thing going for it other than it's cool factor is it's innovative touch screen(WOW) can't wait to see what happens when it the screen locks up!!

Cool factor - yes.
Catch up - well that may be the wrong title for this thread. Can't catch up using Edge vs the competition using EVDO r0. This is like comparing Dial up to Cable. And not having a replaceable battery makes this Apple device cool for about a year or so when you have to charge it several times a day.

Don't be silly. The HTC Touch isn't really an iPhone competitor because it runs on Windows. The iPhone GUI was created from a fresh start. The Touch can connect to corporate email (like MS Exchange), but the iPhone can't - at least for now. The iPhone is going to be a total bust. I feel sorry for any of my customers that buy it. Why in the world would AT&T talk up their 3g network for so long and then release this "revolutionary" phone that doesnt even have 3g? Im pissed off that I have to work all day on friday 830am-1030pm to tell people that they cant touch it until they buy it. This is stupid and it will probably blow up in our faces.

Then just go to an AppleStore, they allow you to touch and play with everything there. And who knows what the AT&T stores will do, if there will be a demo out? I don't know. I am not getting one, nor against any who do, but I will say this, if you can hold your emotions down and dead set on getting one, and thats fine, try and hold off for a month or so. Let others beta it, let problems surface and some kind of fix come out. And I hold these thoughts for all brands.
