Hiding a picture or album

So I have some, shall we say, indecent, pictures of my wife stored on my phone. Is there anyway I can hide or lock a picture or album so that someone looking at my phone won't stumble upon them?

Not sure but I am very interested as well. I'd love to have password protected areas in my iphone (photos, email, etc.... )

There is a lot of personal info on there, and how often do you pull your iphone out and everyone (even non-close friends) say "ahhh is that the iphone, can I see that??"

true, I don't have anything too bad but people feel like they can just start browsing through your phone, it's rough having the coolest thing around.

You can lock your iPhone by using the Passcode Lock found under Settings > General > Passcode Lock.

We're all aware that you can lock your phone completely. What I want to be able to do, as mentioned above, is let someone use (play with) my phone without having access to certain folders, pictures, contacts, etc...

Well apparently "we're all not aware" that you can lock you phone completely. Otherwise this poster would not have posted this:

"...i hate having their #'s unlocked in my phone"

So, my post was to try and help him/her out. As for your question no there is currently no way to password protect or hid certain folders. Perhaps when 1.1.3 comes out they will add this capability since they supposedly are adding the ability to move around the icons and add bookmarks to the main screen.

Look SlackRock,
I don't want to get into a big thing here with you but if you read the context of what Soulshar wrote, you would see that he was referring to the same problem I am having; Limiting access to certain areas of the phone, not the whole thing. (As he confirmed in his reply)

this is the only way that i have been able to do it. the only way you can do extra things on your iphone right now is to jailbreak it. sorry. maybe after macworld this will be addressed but you know apple. keep eveything on the downlow.

If you've been an iPhone owner for any significant amount of time you have likely had friends or family ask to grope your shiny new toy. While most of us don't necessarily mind letting others play with the iPod, YouTube, or Safari, allowing them access to Mail and your Text Messages is another story. Luckily almost any item on the home screen can be hidden with a simple double tap. Re...

I just thought of a way to sort of "hide" your photo album. The 1.13 update allows you to move shortcuts on your home screen around, including to another page. Simply drag the photos shortcut to a 2nd (or third) page. Your average Joe looking at your iphone probably wouldn't know to look for another page on your home screen. I know, it's not perfect, but it's better then nothing. Just remember to move the camera shortcut as well since you can access your photos from within the camera.

Ever find a better solution for this? I tried your way to "hide" the album, but I still got caught. LOL. 🙄

there is a app in the appstore called pic valut. it puts a app on your springboard where you can put your pics in and to get into the app you need a 4 digit code. its really good you can move your pics from the camera roll to this app and its completely secure.
