iPhone Problem?

I've had the phone since the first day available. No issues at all. However now the earpiece to the phone seems to be broken. On calls I can't hear a thing. No rings, no people, nothing. They can hear me just fine. And the speakerphone works (as well as it ever works). I've done a hard re-set to no avail. Considering re-setting the phone to it's factory settings and starting over.

Questions: Has this happened to anyone else? If it's truly defective, what are my options?

Thanks~

i had a similar problem, only when i tried to play music from the ipod..I couldn't hear the music through the speaker. I called apple and they told me to plug in the ear buds..then unplug them, this for some reason worked.
If that dosent work call apple and they will replace the phone at no charge im pretty sure. Only charge would be if you wanted a loner iphone while yours is getting fixed. that would be 30 bucks.

Vinny- thanks for the constructive reply. Can't say I'm too happy that there's a problem already but it's not the end of the world either.

Penny- Perhaps you should change your name to witless? I could be wrong but I'm under the impression the 10% only applies if I want to return the phone (which I do not). I knew about the other issues before I purchased the phone. If I couldn't stomach paying the shipping fee, I wouldn't have bought the device. Thank you, though, for your NON-constructive reply. It's nice to see they've made progress and are now teaching monkeys to type rather than just sign.

I had the same problem with not being able to hear anything. I bought the iphone from AT&T, but went straight to the APPLE store in my hometown. They were awesome. They tried a hard reset and then a complete restore. Still had the same problems. At that point I was given a loner iphone at no charge and mine was sent out on FEDEX the same day. I got my ipone back in 3 days, and APPLE UPGRADED my 4GB to an 8GB no charge! Plus I get the $100.00 store credit which makes me feel alot better. FYI--You do not have to pay for a loner phone, AND NOW APPLE IS REPLACING PHONES AND NOT FIXING THEM. That annoucement came out last Tuesday. Apple said it was not in the best interest of APPLE or the cutomer to have to wait for an iphone to get rep...
