Has anyone been successful in getting an mp3 to be used as a ringtone with this phone? Verizon claims they do not support this. I even tried with a 3rd party app (ringo) and no luck.

I don't know about the i760 which I've been thinking about upgrading to; but on the i730 I just select a song from my SD Card and I select set as ringtone. It may be the entire song; but when it is set as a ringtone it only plays the beginning for so many seconds. Hope that helps.

that function works the same way on the 760. just DL the songs from your computer onto a mem card and select the song for your ring in the sound settings

Easier said than done. I downloaded a song, it's in my library but I don't see how to set it as a ring tone. Would appreciate some help.

Just drop the MP3 into your My Ringtones folder.

That's how I did it too. I wonder why you can't just select if off of the miniSD card? Bummer. Now I have two copies of the song(s).

That is odd, I also tried it off of my miniSD and it recognized it there as well.
