Failure to Lauch: FED UP!

This has to go down in history as the worst product launch (or failure to launch) of all time. By the time VZW does release this thing, the buzz will be over, the technology will be no big deal, and many who were waiting will have moved on. As if VZW's competitors aren't creaming VZW in terms of releasing cool phones amidst a whirlwind of marketing buzz, VZW takes the wind out of its own sails on this thing with today's announced release of 4 new phones and our beloved i760 is not among them.

I for one have had about all I can take and am ready to move on.

Could Verizon *BE* more opposite from Apple in its marketing prowess

i feel your pain, but verizon simply does not care about OUR wants because we are a small portion of their customer base. unfortunately, i have no choice but to stick with verizon because att is not in my area, t-mobile service is weak and sprint is sprint. so i stop being angry and just patiencely wait and wait and wait.....(at least until the cellular one merger with att goes through) ☹️

You have got to be kidding me, WHat a bunch of Whiners! VZW does not release products until they pass their stringent testing and the truth is that this device, as cool as it will be, has failed to pass the testing process, so that means that it's a Samsung issue, not VZW, so please stop whining and be patient with VZW. DO you tink they really are trying to piss off their consumers, now really that is dumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the same situation when the Treo 700w first came out, Sprint and ATT had to wait for 6 months because VZW had exclusive rights the product for those said 6 months, not sure if it's the same situation on the mogul, but it could just be that it hasn't passed the VZW testing process yet. ATT & Sprint will take anything regardless of whether it has issues or not. VZW is the most reliable and fastest, because it is so strict on product release. I know people hate that about VZW, but their network is by far the fastest, especially the data side of things.

Actually, it is Verizon's fault we dont have it.

I just heard from an friend at Motorola that Verizon was penalized for accidentally releasing the i760 before the 30 day Moto-Q exclusivity contract was up. So Verizon was forced to extend the Moto-Q exclusivity as a penalty.

Leave it to Verizon to screw-it up for all of us.

hey barnes,
what a vzw apologist!!! get your facts straight. verizon messed this one up for sure, as eric815 said. verizon loves to brag about their strict TESTING, so explain why six people i know went through at least 3 1st gen chocolates before they just got fed up and received new phones. vzw loves to about their testing, which is overrated and used as an excuse for their incompetence reps.

I can't help it that there are a few that get through, but I personally know several people, includung my wife that have had a chocolate since it came out, and they have had no problems whatsoever, all manufacturers have issues, but VZW does what they can do to try take care of them beforehand.

I am unsure if you're capable of seeing things in this light?

Their testing is BS. They are crippling their phones.

You are absolutely correct. I know a rep from VZW who told me, when I asked why VZW disables features and locks their phones down so tightly that they do it for OUR own good. It keeps our phones from getting hacked like Paris Hilton's. What a load of crap. Verizon spends it's time rewriting the software and crippling the hardware, plain and simple. Anyone who tells you otherwise probably has a Verizon contract to sell you.
