Regular consumers I'm not sure about yet. It is very possible for a partial release (B2B and internet only) and then just like the rumors; a FULL (in store and over phone) release in the first week of november.

There was a warehouse update for the business channels and promised to the sales team for enterprise.

I just saw this morning on my Yahoo startpage Verizon Wireless had a little advertising box that said "introducing new phones from Verizon" with a countdown clock with 22+ hours to go meaning they'll release them tomorrow. I wish I got a screenshot of it but this concurs with what my friend from Verizon said.

Well, I just read a press release from VZW mentioning the upcoming release of 4 new phones that will likely be available by Thanksgiving, however, this phone was NOT mentioned as one of them. Headliner was the LG Voyager (iphone look-alike).

"In announcing its holiday lineup Wednesday, Verizon Wireless did not say how much the Voyager or three other new phones would cost. It also didn't give a specific launch date, saying only that they would be in stores before Thanksgiving."

The other three phones mentioned were the LG Venus, a version of the Blackberry Pearl, and the Samsung Juke.

Nada on the i760.

Anyone see/hear anything more or different?

You have 30 days from the date of purchase to return/exchange the handsetto something more of what your looking for. If you did not pay full retail for the RAZR2 then you should not have to pay retail for the i760. Most stores are a lil bit more forgiving on the 30 days give or take a day or two.

Since you bought it 2 days ago, you're completely covered under the 30 day Worry Free Guarantee. As long as you did not cut off the upc and send it away for the mail in rebate you're all good. You'll just have to pay the difference between the two phones.

I work for Verizon and had some shipped early to me!! I have been waiting for the 6800, however at a recent data summit, I got the chance to see live 6800's and I must say the 760 is worlds better. speed wise, the perform almost the same, however form factor, the i760 seems more sturdy and is much more attractive. It sits in my palm so much better than the 6800. If you have any questions, email me any at all... nathan.burlison@gmail.com

Hi, the Samsung web site says nothing about the GPS capability of the i760...Have you tried running VZ Navigator on it?
Thanks, Roger

as a dedicated samsung i-730 user, I'm anxiously awaiting the i-760.. As you get to use it more and more please post your thought about the phone. I'm curious to see what functions verizon has disabled.

Do you know if it can be used as a modem for your laptop. I got rid of my 730 because it didn't have that feature...

That's interesting... I used my i730 as a EVDO modem for my laptop all the time (whenver I am in a place where there's no WiFi). Works great! All you need to do is download the VZAccess Manager from Verizon (it's free) and go to Setting -> System -> Data Connection and select "As a modem using USB". (Be sure to disable wireless on your laptop first, or it'll confuse VZAccess) My understanding that i760 will continue to support this feature (but would LOVE to hear an affirmation on this since I do use this feature from time to time when I'm in a WiFi dead zone).

Hi, I have a spec sheet printed out on the i760 (Store manager printed it for me) Part of the right side of the page got cut out by the printer. But it clearly says you can use it as a tethered modem. VZ Access Manager is included.

Thanks guys... now I'm really mad at the Verizon guy that told me the 730 could never be used as a modem. I never even tried after that...Getting closer to that 760 however. Should be in the stores in a few days.

I went to the verizon web site and there are no downloadable files for the i730 phone listed.

also did a search for "VZAccess Manager" and could not find this either! this would be great if it existed.

Can you help?

The site is vzam.net. On that site you can find the download for the VZ Access Manager for the i730. I'm sure here in day or two that they will make it available for the i760. You download the program on your laptop. You can connect via USB or Bluetooth. Obviously USB would be a faster connection. Bluetooth your looking at maxing out at 400kbs.
