Here's my story.

I just got 8700 last week after returning a KRZR (Verison) because of reception issues in my house. Motorolas typically (for me) have been unreliable as far as their internal anntennas. Reception and static issues for me in and around the bay area. I thought the KRZR had to be an improvement, not.

Upon first using the 8700 I deceided to see how long I could go without charging (ie like seeing how far I could go with the gas light on empty). So, as of Friday May 11th thru today Monday May 14th, no charging(maybe 10 total calls, few mins each, no pics). And pleasantly surprised to see 3 of 4 bars of charge left on the display.

Take the battery out, count to 10 put it back in and try charging it, if that fails - go directly to the source where you purchased the phone for a replacement. These things happen.
I had it happen to 2 of my Moto RAZR's.

I remember this battery removal trick on some of the high end Audiovox phones. There once was a discussion about this and the trickle down of voltage in the phone with the battery removed for a few minutes. I hope this worked for you. I did the same thing to my LG VX 9700. Those last (2) bars go quick! My screen went blank, but the phone did come back after a minute of power applied.

So, better than trying to figure out what's wrong, new replacement for me (by the way this took an hour and half of just watching the 3 three monkeys try to open the coconut or in fact, figure out how to properly activate the phone on my wife's line and not my own. But that's a whole new story).

Any hoo, get my new shiny silver phone. Try the whole same process again (ie draining the brand new battery). Wake up this morning, plug in the dea...
