I leaning towards no.
You can set ringtones for callers but I do not see any area that is contact specific for text message tones.

I am curious about this as well. I have an 8100 and it has a seperate area to set ID specific ringtones, AND txt messages. I definately dont want to lose this option.
Why is it that as the phones advance, the customizability is not advancing, but actually moving backwards????!!!?

I tried to set one and it only sets for all txt.... I thought somewhere on here someone said you could though... Oh well i guess not...Just FYI.....

thanks for trying. did you try in the address book, like setting an individual ring tone for a contact? Some of the LG's have it there.
