it's a sexy phone and this cannot be argued. but if anyone has any insight into any of these items, please do share:

1. text message inbox limit. 50 messages?! seriously, does this annoy anyone else?? what's 30MB for if i have to start deleting inbox items after i get 50 texts?? and then deleting sent items has no effect either...

2. word vs. T9. i dont know. i just think t9 is better...

3. complete uselessness of external buttons when phone is 'closed'. they don't do anything except turn the ringer off when you're getting a call. feels like LG moved backwards with this one...

4. external text message preview. non existant on the 87. i thought it was a pretty sweet feature on the 86. it's a shame they thought otherwise....

1. I have my inbox set on auto erase - this feature automatically erases the oldest message when the inbox or outbox are at capacity.

Also, it seems to up the limit this way. I currently have 92 messages in my inbox and 78 in my outbox. The number fluctuates, but it has remained above 50 and I never have to delete messages.

2. I had T9 with my previous phone and while the dictionary had more words in it to begin with, Word should end up benefiting you in the long run because it remembers new words. Use a new word once on the LG, and it includes it in the dictionary for the next time.

The other things I don't really have a response to, because they are features that I either like or have no preference on.

dont know... maybe because you're cooler than me? maybe because the phone has a bug that affects this, along with all the other bugs that we know about already?

i just erased all the messages on my phone. let's see what happens when i build back up to 50 from zero... should take about 20 minutes 😛

T9 on my VX8100 learns new words as well. If you type something with the ABC option and then switch back to T9 before you enter a space, it is added to the dictionary. My phone now knows quite a few extra words.

1) I have noticed that only the motorola's give you huge msg capacity. On the razr I was able to save as much txt as phone memory could hold.

2)Samsung = Word, LG = T9. Even though it says word on the 8700 it is T9. T9 will learn words while WORD will not. And you are right T9 is way better, just dont pay attention to the fact that it says WORD on the 8700.

3)Once again only motorola allows use of external keys as far as i have experienced. Kinda annoying that they can only be use while phone is open.

4)Yes outside txt was very good on 8600. One of the features that I really love in a phone. This may help a little. Go to messages, select settings, select txt msgs, and select auto view, that ay allow txt to auto view on front when th...

yeah moto does let you do that, and every week i have atleast two people in here complaining about how slow their phone is running or that it keeps locking up. This is caused by to many messages in the moto's, i erase them then they work fine. Maybe they should have limited them as well
