I was elated to see that you were able to call customer service to order and I called right away. However, everyone keeps telling me they can't process it today.

One person said it's available to them but not until tomorrow. But then she said they don't offer overnight shipping on Saturday so I wouldn't get it until next week. Another said that because it is online they can't do anything about it until it is in stores. Gotta love the inconsistency!

I even tried BSing them with a story that I was going away this weekend and that my current phone stopped working today. No luck.

Did you say anything "extra" to get them to push it through for you?

I also called to order one and they told me the same. Then thay said that it will not be released in stores till MAY!!!

My LG Rep brought on into my store on tuesday and this thing is amazing. I need to find a way to get one soon.

It really can get frustrating that there are inconsistencies occurring like that - it will be available in stores on April 17th. No worries if you don't mind waiting.

I, however, become very anxious and impatient when I get my hopes set on something. So I would love to get this phone by Saturday 🙂

Seriously people... it will be available tonight at midnight online or at the latest early tomorrow morning. Fretting over whether it will be Saturday or Monday is just stupid. It is only a phone, not a kidney or liver. And I think we are kind of lucky the time between announcement and availability was pretty short indeed. We could have been waiting a lot longer.

Plus, after VZW milks all of us suckers for $179.99, in like a month or two it will have some promo where you can get the phone for well under $100. Remember the RAZR, it was around the same price as this phone when it came out... then a few weeks later... price drops. So, patience pays... but we all know our patience levels when we get all worked up about a product.

The phone is now activated and it is great! You should all be very happy when you do finally get it. I do not understand how I was able to order, but nobody else could. It will be worth the wait.

not with LG! the 8600 is out already a good 4 months nd price is same since launch, 8300 went up in price and is currently higher then the release price after over 6 months so no hpes on this one...

I'm not making any harsh judgments here, nor does my excitement about this phone harm anyone in any way. No need for you to get dramatic about someone else's interests. Just let those of us that are overexcited be that way.

Comparing a phone to a liver or kidney because a few individuals on this site are excited to get it is dramatic.

If I had said "I have to have this phone by the end of this week or I'll die" then I could see making such a comparison.

All I am saying is, to each their own. It's not necessary to call others out because your level of enthusiasm is not the same. Sometimes it's better to keep your opinions to yourself.

Seriously, I was just commenting on how you said you tried to "BS" your way to get them to process your order. You actually took time from your day to contact VZW and bother some poor schmo working in customer service to try and get a phone that is not out yet, just because some guy on here (no clue if that is true) says he got one today. So, if you are not dramatic, then what is. Non-dramatic people, go "ok, I'll order on Friday." Not, how do I BS my way to get one by Saturday.

Sorry but I've dealt with various customer service situations before and sometimes a little extra "push" is all you need. So I took time out of my day to call? It's my time.

I tried calling a couple of times, because VZW IS known for giving different answers depending on who you get through to. (That point was made obvious when a previous poster was told the phone won't be in stores until May.) It didn't work. No big deal. To me, if I can make a call and get a phone a couple days early, why not? Its a few minutes on the phone.

This is why companies do not announce things in advance anymore... because people try to manipulate their way to getting things before other people. I don't care whether you get the phone or not, or when you get it, just try and follow the rules. It's not about being better. I don't think I deserve it before anyone else. I just thought I might have been lucky enough to stumble across something like this. I wouldn't have even tried if I hadn't read the post. It's not something I thought was possible. But I read the post and thought, why not try? And since the original poster is MIA it may never have been possible. But I tried anyways.

And honestly, your argument that a phone would be back ordered if a bunch of people successfully ordered it today instead of tomorrow is silly. If the supply was that short it would be back ordered for most people by the end of the first day anyways.

Rest easy... you'll get the phone whether you order it tomorrow or if you wait to see if the price...

To clarify the assumption that I would deny anyone else a "push" of their own, I am sorry but you are wrong. In my current field of work I have defended loyal customers to a manager that refused to bend the rules even if it meant a loss of business. Sometimes it's ok to make exceptions. Especially when the "cost" is minimal.

And if you have never told a white lie in your life to make something happen faster or to make the process easier well, good for you. But as long as it doesn't harm anyone, I do...
