I just recently got the 6800, and I was thinking of switching to the 5800. Can someone tell me how this phone is.

I ordered it and it should be delivered today per Fed Ex Tracking. This is my first run at a "non touchscreen" (standard) Windows Mobile Phone. I am a 2 year XV6700 user (among others before).

I will post a Review or at least a repy to this post sometime within the next 24 hours.

I suppose it is relative, but the earpiece is good. I can say that it is a noticeable improvement over the 6700 but I can't speak for the 6800.

I have learned to have low expectation with Battery life, but I can say that I fired up the phone at about 4:30 EST - activated it, setup my email, played with it like crazy, downloaded and installed some stuff on it and here it is about 1:00am and it is at about 40%. I have not charged it yet, and I can't say for sure how charged it was when I got it, but it seems great so far.

The true test will be this week when I hit the road with it. After I get bombarded with emails and phone calls on Monday I will know pretty quick and pass it on.

I disagree. I've had a Q for 2 years and used it for work. It's taken a lot of abuse and is a good device. I've had the SMT5800 for 2 days. The screen is the same size as the Q when you slide open the keyboard, which is bigger than the Q's, and it goes to landscape mode.
This phone is a lot faster than my Q ever was. I want to wait a bit longer before I write a review. If they would have updated the Q to mobile 6, I probably wouldn't have given another phone a look but, I'm glad I did so far. I'll write a full review next week o...

You can bet your asteroids I will post a review.
I'm retiring my Motorola Q for this phone.
I can also now use a Jawbone headset too.
Which i plan on picking up from the Verizon store tomorrow after work.

I used to use a Motorola Q, then I ordered the HTC5800
I must say, its small, has a nice screen and the slide out keyboard is cool.
However, the buttons are really tiny and the tweaks to WM6 on this thing are stupid.
Voice command is not here.
Voice Tagging is.
Anyone whos used voice command on a Q or i760
whos just how different.
Also the battery life is bad, like less than a half of a day bad.
And the placement of the buttons on the front make you have to bend you fingers in such a way that its hard to hit the buttons without using 2 hands, one to hold the phone, and the other to press the buttons, sounds silly but its something you have to see to understand I guess.
I am sending it back. I'm either getting th Q9M
or the i760.
