I like the design and features of this phone, but am concerned about a few things.

First, is the plastic glossy so that it shows fingerprints? Glossy phones seem cool for about 2 days, until you get sick of all the fingerprints and the greasy effect. A good quality matte plastic is way better.

Also, what about basic performance? A lot of reviews for the m500 were luke warm or negative about call quality. I have stayed away from Samsungs ever since I had an a620 that made a high pitch sound in the background while talking. I read one review for the m500 that mentioned the same thing. I wonder if this phone has the high pitch squealing or any other call quality issues. Also, the m500 was said to have poor battery life – has that been im...

I am currently using an M500, so I thought I would set you straight on a couple of these things.

First, I have great call quality. I have never experienced the squeal that you mentioned the A620 having. In areas where other phones have had weak or no signal, even with the Sanyo 9000 I used ot have, I get bars and more importantly can make and receive calls.

Second, the battery life, while not stellar, is still very good. I use a bluetooth headset most days, and listen to music, and surf the web, and I end up charging my phone about every other day. Not bad, considering its basically the same battery as the A640.

The only complaint I really have for the device is the keypad is glossy, and shows smudges easy, and is sometimes hard...
