I just got the U540 and for whatever reason I can't hear whoever is on the other end of my phone calls. I love the phone otherwise and would like to keep it. Does anyone know if theres a volume button for your incoming calls?

press upper volume key when you are in a call to increase the volume to the earpiece. You can only adjust this while you are in a call.

Yep. Volume up/down key is on the left side of the phone. Which is where it usually is on most phones.

Samsung pretty much nailed it on the volume levels for the U540... medium is about perfect, while high is loud enough for even pretty difficult conditions (outside in a crowd of people, or traffic going by).

The only slightly bad thing regarding volume on the 540 is that there's only 5 volume levels ('alarm only' and 'vibrate only' don't count).

I kinda prefer my old Nokia 6256 on that, it had 10 volume levels, so you could get your volume 'perfect'...

One thing you might do is double check to make sure that TTY is off.
