Can I get some opinions on the quality of calls on the Samsung SCH-u540 using a Blutooth headset?

I use the Nokia BH-900 and so far so good. It is loud and clear. I also use the Motorola H3 and no problem too but I like the Nokia better. Hope that helps.

This is the best phone I have ever had with regard to bluetooth. Works very clear and no problem connecting or disconnecting. I am on the road 24/7 and always use bluetooth while driving and am extremely pleased. I had other phones which shall remain nameless, that I had problems with the connection, but this is perfect. Good luck.
