phone shutting off by itself?

Ok....I've had this phone for a couple weeks and I've noticed that once in a while, the phone shuts off. I've have all the "timeout" settings turned off, so it's not that.

This troubles me because I overslept today because my alarm didn't go off (Yes! I use my phone for an alarm clock).

Anybody have this issue? Did you do anything to fix it?

Well, my report is that I've had this phone for about 6 months now, and that hasn't happened, although I did have it freeze once, but a restart took care of that.

Yeah...mine locked up a couple of times. Mostly when the browser was trying to render a page or when video was playing.

The "shut off" problem happened one other time other than when I mentioned.

The only problem with me is that the phone shut off, but never restarted. I woke up late to a turned off phone.

Repositioning the battery seems to have fixed the problem for me as well. I did this a while ago and everything seems fine. I know in the UK, there have been numerous complaints about this problem with this phone.

If it happens again, I'll let you know. Hopefully the battery position fix did the trick!

Gee, my old Motorola V180's alarm goes off even if the phone is off. Kind of handy.

Based on your comment, I tried setting the alarm and then shutting the phone off and it worked!

That aside, I can't explain what happened on that day.

Good to know though! Thanks!
