Walmart purchase?

I saw the v3xx at Walmart for $38 for a 2-year upgrade.

How is Walmart's phone different from a "Cingy store" model?

Is the "deal" different? Has anybody bought this phone at Walmart?

Just wondering...

i bought mine at walmart in February before i started working at a cingular store in April. i was told that walmart buys in bulk so they get discounts that the cingular stores don't. also they don't mess with rebates like the stores do.
one thing thats different though is if u have problems with it u cant take it back to walmart. they wont do anything to help u like the cingular stores do.

Wrong. You CAN take it back to Walmart and exchange it within your 30 days or return it. Same as a Cingular store.

And neither will a Cingular store. They refer you to XBM.

I think it really depends on the person you are working with. I visit a Cingular kiosk and I have a "phone guy" I see exclusively.

This guy is wonderful at getting things done for me. I'm sure if I had a problem with my phone, he could get things done reasonably quickly.

He helped me out with an issue for a prior phone AFTER the 30 day period.

yea i think it depends on where u go. the store i work at doesnt just send u out the door and tell u to call xbm. we do all the calling in to the exchange and dealing with the customer service people so the customer doesnt have to mess with it.

I purchased my mom a v3xx @ Walmart for $38 and change. Anyway, she started having problems with the keypad within 3 weeks. I told her to take it back and exchange it for another one. The manager of the electronic dept told her that the return/exchange policy for cell phones is 14 days. Has anyone else had this problem??

I haven't. I got a contract with mine, and in the contract from Walmart (it has their stamp on it) it clearly states 30 days.
